A new year means new goals for many people.
If we’re being honest, we know that most New Year-themed goals and resolutions revolve around the idea of improved health and physical fitness, which is a great way to start the year.
Whether you’re an avid runner who loves to spend a sunny Saturday hitting the pavement to train for your next half marathon, a weightlifting enthusiast who aims to reach new personal records, or simply someone who wants to put fitness first again by partaking in group fitness classes as a local gym, there is one thing in common: health is at the forefront.
While we often think of the best sneakers and most comfortable and supportive workout clothes, we must remember an important (and essential!) piece of our workout gear puzzle: the socks.
Protecting your legs and feet and keeping the blood flowing throughout your workouts is important to our overall health. In fact, our leg and foot health is integral to our overall fitness performance, recovery, and long-term achievements.
If you’re working out and not using compression socks, now is the time to change.
Let’s discuss the benefits of sports compression socks in more detail.
In simplest terms, leg and ankle compression, of any degree, helps to improve circulation in the legs and feet.
When circulation is improved, the blood becomes more oxygenated and adds nutrients to help improve your workout performance.
Workout compression socks help blood return to the heart, which may be impeded from your feet due to inflammation caused by an injury or illness.
By speeding up blood return to the heart, your body can deliver more oxygenated blood to all body parts, increasing recovery time and overall performance levels.
Compression socks for workouts also decrease foot fatigue and swelling and provide micro-massages on your legs and feet throughout the entirety of wear.
This year, we encourage you to focus on the importance of circulation when you’re gearing up for your workouts by choosing compression workout socks every time you hit the gym, trails, or streets for your next big fitness day.
At Skineez, we offer sports compression socks in three styles: Ankle, Crew, and Knee-High.
The right fit for each should be positioned as follows:
Each style is available in four colors: black, white, gray, and royal blue. In addition, they include a reinforced black heel and toe to help minimize blistering.
Skineez® is the only FDA-Cleared skin protectant fabric clinically proven to repair, moisturize, and renew your skin while boosting overall circulation.

]]>Our hands are our most important tools. We should do everything we can to protect them. They help us with tasks small and large. They are often the more neglected part of our bodies unless we experience a hand-related injury or condition like diabetic neuropathy or arthritis.
Did you know that people with diabetes are twice as likely to develop arthritis in the joints throughout their body? It is most prevalent in the fingers and hands of many living with type 2 diabetes.
It is also important to know that uncontrolled diabetes can wreak havoc on the skeletal and nervous systems leading to long-term nerve damage and unrelenting joint pain.
While we cannot wholly prevent hand-related issues, such as diabetic neuropathy and associated joint pain, we can utilize tools and resources, like compression gloves, to help reduce symptoms and keep our hands in the best shape possible.
Let’s discuss compression gloves in more detail, including how to relieve pain caused by your diabetic neuropathy diagnosis.
Compression gloves are open-finger gloves that help reduce the pain, swelling, and stiffness associated with hand conditions like diabetic neuropathy, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint troubles, and other hand-related issues.
They are also a great option to keep the skin supple and youthful.
Diabetic neuropathy is a health condition directly related to a diabetes diagnosis. It is a type of nerve damage that often affects the joints, especially the hands, legs, and feet.
While symptoms can be mild for some, they are most often moderate to severe, causing pain, numbness, swelling, and joint and muscle weakness.
Compression gloves offer a noninvasive way to manage symptoms of diabetic neuropathy and keep your hands in optimal shape.
Compression gloves work by lightly squeezing the veins in your hands to support healthy circulation. They also work to prevent inflammation caused by joint pain and arthritic swelling.
Some compression gloves extend above the wrist to provide additional joint support and comfort for total hand relief.
Glove wear time depends on your condition, severity of symptoms, and overall lifestyle.
It is recommended that compression gloves be worn for about 8 hours per day.
To reduce swelling and inflammation, some people find it beneficial to wear gloves while sleeping. In contrast, others find it helpful to ease symptoms during tasks and wear them throughout their waking hours, usually the length of a standard working shift.
At Skineez, we highly recommend wearing them throughout the night to benefit from the infused nutrients that will energize and refresh your hands the following day.
Ultimately, we encourage you to choose a time of day that works best for you, your schedule, and your hand symptoms.
You don’t have to live with constant hand swelling and pain caused by your diabetic neuropathy diagnosis. Compression gloves can help.
If you’ve been diagnosed with a hand-related condition like diabetic neuropathy or arthritis or are experiencing symptoms consistent with one, Skineez Moisturizing Compression Gloves may be the correct answer for you.
Working with your hands just became more comfortable with us.]]>
Compression socks are excellent for blood circulation, so why don’t more people wear them?
Here is something that might make you start! Women who take the The Pill to avoid menstruation are more likely to suffer from a blood clot when flying. For men, traveling socks can increase energy levels, making you feel refreshed for once you get off that flight! Even for a flight that is as short as three hours, it is recommended to wear compression socks.
Skineez® compression socks are not only great for keeping that blood flowing in your legs while traveling, but they are also made fabrics that are ultra-soft, supple, and clinically proven to firm, moisturize, and revitalize your skin.
For a small price, purchasing Skineez® compression socks can have a big reward.

]]>March is Women's History Month. We will be sharing an article each week in honor of women. This week, we are exploring Women's Health and Peripheral Neuropathy, although this condition applies to men as well.
What is Peripheral Neuropathy?
Peripheral neuropathy results from damage to the peripheral nerves, which often causes weakness, numbness, pain, and tingling, most often in the hands and feet; however, it can affect other parts of the body.
There are more than 100 types of peripheral Neuropathy. Each has its different symptoms and outlook, but they fall into four categories: Motor neuropathy, Sensory Neuropathy, Autonomic nerve neuropathy, and Combination neuropathies.
What causes peripheral neuropathy?
There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy. Some of the most common reasons are diabetes, traumatic injuries, cancer treatment, autoimmune diseases, and more. You can read more about the causes of neuropathy here.
Can compression socks help with neuropathy?
Compression garments will not cure neuropathy, but they help ease the burning, throbbing, and sharp pain in your legs. The compression material applies pressure to your limbs, increasing blood circulation and reduces cramping and they can even help with temperature sensitivity. Compression socks can help, but you should follow your doctor's advice for managing your neuropathy.
What are some other considerations with compression socks for neuropathy?
Peripheral neuropathy causes numbness, and the discomfort makes it hard to detect something like a crease in the fabric that can cause irritation or even a blister that could lead to an infection.
What makes Skineez® the best compression for peripheral neuropathy?
Skineez® uses a patented microencapsulation technology in our fabrics. The unique weave of the fabric holds in the moisturizing infusion. This process creates small modules in the material, which micro-massage your skin as you wear the compression garments. This process also allows for the slow release of all skin-protectant ingredients.
You can rest easy wearing Skineez® because we are the only FDA-Cleared and clinically proven compression, which means that Skineez® is safe and effective!
Skineez® offers a variety of compression products. In addition to the compression stocking, we have diabetic socks, compression sleeves, and gloves. All of Skineez® products are infused with these ingredients to hydrate your skin: Shea butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Retinol, and more. The first layer of protection for your skin and ease from the pain

]]>What is the best thing about winter? Some people may say it's the holiday season. Others would say hot chocolate and a cozy fire, but we would say that the best thing about winter is winter sports.
There is no feeling that could replace the exhilaration you feel when you are sliding down the slopes, skating, or enjoying the fresh air while snowshoeing. Here are some tips for packing for a winter sports getaway. As you would imagine, winter sports gear essentials are an excellent warm parka and a pair of windproof/waterproof pants. Even though these are essential, you need a few more things in your suitcase.
Skineez® is the Only FDA-Cleared and Clinically Proven Compression that Improves Skin Condition through Hydration.
Your base layers help keep you warm and protect your skin. Skineez® compression wear will improve your performance, and sore muscles will recover faster. Skineez® micro-encapsulation technology makes the fabrics ultra-soft and easy to put on. They are clinically proven to moisturize and repair your skin. Skineez© patented clothing has five ingredients to hydrate and protect your skin from the winter air. Shea butter moisturizes, Apricot Kernel Oil increases elasticity, Rose Hip Oil rejuvenates through fatty acids, Vitamin E has been linked to cell repair, and Retinol is a skin protectant.
Winter is hard on your skin. Skineez® fabrics will hydrate and repair your skin where other brands don't. The material is engineered to deliver essential ingredients to your skin over time, and Skineez© is the only FDA-Cleared compression wear.
A good pair of socks
Skineez® compression sports socks are fantastic. Skineez® Sport socks offer mild to moderate compression; they boost your circulation and keep your feet warm. They will also provide you with the stability to help prevent injuries. Skineez® Sport socks have a reinforced toe and heel to help protect your skin from blisters. Unlike other compression brands, the fabric is ultra-soft and easy to put on. And they moisturize your feet which can get dry and flaky from the cold, dry air.
Compression leggings or leg sleeves
Compression tights or sleeves are an absolute must. A good pair of leggings will keep you warm and prevent wind and snow from getting next to your skin. Compression sleeves will improve your blood flow and stimulate your muscles, making you more agile. Skineez® leg sleeves make a great base layer for winter sports because of their compression properties, comfort, and moisturizing benefits.
Quality pair of gloves
It's not a secret that you can’t enjoy winter sports without snow gloves. But what do you wear under your bulky gloves? Skineez® Sport gloves are light weight mild compression. They have a fingerless design to keep your hands warm while having full function of your fingertips when you take off your outer glove. They help boost your circulation to help keep your hands warm. You will benefit from these gloves since your hands are one of the most exposed body parts during winter sports. Whether you ski, board, snowshoe, skate, snowmobile, or sled, you constantly use your hands.
Compression Arm Sleeves
For winter sports that require poles, your arms get an extra workout. Skineez® Arm Sleeves will help keep you warm, protect your elbows, and protect your skin from drying out. If this is your first time out this season, they will help your tired, achy muscles recover faster.
Breathable face coverage
One of the most forgotten winter sports gear essentials is face coverage. Cold air and the wind can quickly damage your face, and snow particles also make it hard for you to breathe, so face coverage is necessary. Skineez® hydrating face masks will protect your skin and area around the mouth and nose from the cold, dry air, moisturize your skin and protect it from irritation.
What to wear under winter gear?
So, let's summarize – what to wear under winter sports clothes? Skineez®! We think winter sports will be so much more comfortable while wearing Skineez® compression as a base layer. Compression layers will help your stability and add to your agility. They will not slip and move under your skin clothes because they are designed to fit firmly around your skin, and only Skineez® has the additional benefit of moisturizing your skin and protecting it from cold, dry air.
Skineez® Must-Have packing list for men
Skineez® Must-Have packing list for women
If you plan to hit the slopes, the skating rink, or hike in the snow-covered woods this winter, you will be much more comfortable wearing Skineez® compression wear as a base layer for better performance and faster recovery.
]]>February 3 is National Women Physicians Day. The date was chosen because it is the birthday of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell. Dr. Blackwell was the first woman to receive a degree in medicine back in 1849. The holiday has been observed annually since 2016.
National Women Physicians Day recognizes the progress made by female physicians over the years. However, women in medicine still earn 8% less than men, most still experience discrimination, and 1/3 of women doctors report an incident of sexual harassment. Work still needs to be done.
As a Woman-Owned Business, Skineez® is aware of and supportive of women's challenges. We encourage all women to be more in your skin and be more of whatever makes you unique.
Skineez® compression socks help support you. Support socks relieve tired, achy feet, prevent edema, boost your circulations to give you more energy, and prevent varicose veins, helping you keep up with your fast-paced lifestyle without your legs paying the price.
Skineez® compression is infused with moisturizers, including Retinol, to protect your skin. The micro-massaging fabric is incredibly soft and supple, making them much easier to put on than ordinary compression socks. Honor National Women Physicians Day by being more courageous in your skin. Don't forget to thank a female doctor you know and post on social media #NationalWomenPhysiciansDay or #WomenPhysiciansDay.
]]>Compression sleeves are a key part of therapy for lymphedema. Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid, typically in the arms and legs, when the lymph system is damaged or blocked. In the United States, lymphedema almost always occurs from cancer growing near a lymph node or vessel or radiation or surgery to treat cancer that damages the lymphatic system. Lymphedema often damages the skin. Skineez® Compression Sleeves for the arms or legs, with their infusement of nutrients to repair the skin, deliver an extra benefit to protect the skin.
The lymphatic system uses lymph nodes to move protein-rich fluids through the body and clear waste. As part of the body’s immune system, lymph nodes filter waste and contain cells to fight infection and cancer. Cancer will frequently spread first through the nearest lymph nodes, and these lymph nodes and vessels are often in the arms and legs.
A main symptom of lymphedema is swelling in an arm or leg. The swelling may become extreme to the point of pain or restricting movement. Exercise, massage, and compression can help reduce the swelling. Other symptoms can be swelling of the fingers or toes, including tingling or a feeling of heaviness. And lymphedema can cause hardening and thickening of the skin.
There are several conditions where lymphedema can damage the skin. Trapped fluid can lead to a skin infection (cellulitis), particularly if the affected arm or leg sustains even a minor injury. The affected skin will become swollen, red, painful, and warm. If untreated, the infection can spread through the bloodstream and trigger sepsis, where the body starts to fight its own tissue. Also, with severe swelling, lymph fluid may seep through tiny breaks in the skin and blister. A rare form of soft tissue cancer can even occur from lymphedema.
In clinical studies, over 70% of respondents using Skineez® noticed softer, smoother skin after just one hour. Skineez® fabrics hydrate and repair your skin where others don’t.
Skineez® Arm and Leg Compression Sleeves help move fluid back to the core of your body, as most compression sleeves do. But Skineez® uses a patented fabric design of interlocking circles that give micro-massaging to the skin and tissue. This micro-massaging effect is most noticeable where you rub on the sleeve and, therefore, where you need it most. Micro-massaging helps move your tissue and increase circulation to the point of contact, which all helps your circulatory and lymphatic systems. The motion of your muscles assists the lymphatic system in moving fluid in a healthy body.
In addition to the micro-massaging design, the Skineez® fabric is infused with six essential nutrients for the skin:
Skineez© is the only fabric clinically proven to improve the skin where these medical conditions cause extra stress and dryness. Skineez® is the only fabric that is FDA-Cleared for these claims.
The Skineez® compression sleeve is designed to wear well and last. You can wash the Skineez® Arm Compression Sleeve 10 times before applying the Skineez® Garment Replenishing Spray to restore the original mixture of essential ingredients for your skin. Only the Skineez® fabric has this patented technology.
Only the Skineez® fabric in the arm compression sleeve is FDA-Cleared and clinically proven to repair the skin.
A compression sleeve is part of the overall treatment for lymphedema and cancer.
A compression sleeve will not prevent or treat these conditions by itself. Scientific studies have proven that an arm compression sleeve will reduce the incidence of lymphedema for breast cancer patients one and two years after surgery. Your doctor will recommend the right compression level for your condition, the time and duration to use the sleeve, and which sleeves combination to use.
Your doctor will most likely recommend a compression sleeve for the area most directly affected by the lymphedema. You can use additional sleeves or a longer sleeve to treat the lower limb or hands and feet. For instance, Compression Gloves are used frequently with an arm compression sleeve.
The glove ensures that swelling does not occur in the hand as a medium compression sleeve is applied to the arm.
The Skineez® Compression Glove is designed to also work with the Skineez® Arm Compression Sleeve.
Likewise, your doctor may recommend a full leg compression sleeve or use an ankle sleeve with a calf sleeve.
Doctors frequently recommend medium compression immediately following surgery and reduce this to light compression at six months or one year after surgery.
Your doctor will give a specific recommendation for your condition. Other sleeve manufacturers will recommend that you do not use lotions because the lotions will erode the elastic of their products. The Skineez® compression sleeves are a unique fabric engineered to hold the nutrients your skin needs. The Skineez® compression sleeves are pre-treated with five essential ingredients such as retinol, shea butter, and Vitamin E. Skineez® also sells a replenishing spray to restore the original coating of this solution to help your skin. Use the spray on any of the Skineez® Compression Sleeves.
Most sleeve manufacturers suggest that you buy 2-3 Compression Sleeves to wash these regularly. Also, you are likely to wear a sleeve for a year or two years after surgery, and their sleeves will wear out. Skineez® fabric is a premium combination of fibers designed to last a long time. You may find it convenient to buy two of any type to have one available while one is in the wash. But with the regular washing of the fabric and treating with the Skineez® Replenishing Garment Spray, your Skineez® Compression Sleeve should last for several years.
Skineez® offers a complete line of Compression Sleeves for the arms and legs. Skineez® fabrics are the only FDA-Cleared Compression Sleeves to treat swelling due to trauma, surgery, lymphedema, edema, DVT, radiation therapy, or other circulatory conditions. Skineez® Compression Sleeves are an excellent choice for post-surgery recovery. You can see the new sleeves for leg, knee, calf, ankle, elbow, arm, and hand HERE. Skineez® Compression Sleeves are micro-massaging and skin-reparative, treating your lymphatic system the same way as Skineez® Compression Socks.
]]>As life slowly turns back to normal, many of you are returning to air travel for business or pleasure. While flying, you may experience the discomfort of edema or similar circulatory problems. You may have heard about compression socks for travel or flight socks but are unsure what they are or if you need them. Skineez® offers several options perfect for every traveler, regardless of your needs. We are happy to clarify the information to help you decide which compression flight socks are right for you.
To quickly surmise, nothing. Flight, travel, and compression socks are different names for the same garment, only the sock's quality, style, and comfort may differ between brands.
The most effective sock is true gradient, knee-high, compression socks. Skineez® offers a variety of true gradient compression in weights, colors, and styles. The most popular weight is the 10-20mmHg which is mild to moderate pressure, is safe and effective for most people, and comes in 16 gorgeous colors! Next is the 20-30mmHg firm compression, which is more clinical and recommended if you have chronic edema. The third compression level is 30-40mmHg which your doctor may recommend if you have severe edema or are at risk for DVTs.
Skineez® also offers mild to moderate compression in the Sport Socks, which comes in Crew and Ankle length. Crew length is a good option if you get minor swelling in your feet and ankles. If only your feet swell, then you can get away with wearing an ankle-length compression sock.
If you have flown before and noticed your feet and ankles had swollen and made it uncomfortable to hobble off the plane, you will benefit from travel socks. The longer the flight, the more valuable you will find these socks. You may associate compression socks for flying with preventing DVTs, but your risk of developing a blood clot is minimal unless you are flying for more than 8 hours. However, swollen feet and ankles are very common, even on short flights. Although it is usually harmless, the swelling can make walking painful, causing additional stress.
Edema or swelling of your feet and ankles due to air travel happens when you sit for an extended period, which causes blood to pool in your feet. Air travel exasperates the swelling due to air pressure, limited space, restricted movement, and gravity. This pooling of blood puts a strain on your veins and can cause varicose veins and potentially cause blood to clot for some people at risk.
Edema is more likely to be a problem for people with poor circulation, less active people meaning those who exercise less than 30 minutes a day, have certain diseases, some medications, and pregnancy.
When choosing a travel sock, a top-quality sock is a wise investment. Skineez® is the only FDA-Cleared, clinically proven compression that protects your skin. Skineez® uses patented micro-encapsulation technology that makes the fabric incredibly soft and supple, making it easier to put on than other compression brands, and they moisturize your skin while you wear them. Your feet will feel more refreshed and energized for your trip.
]]>Compression Wear is probably best known for the health benefits to circulation. But Skineez® Compression Socks and apparel help tone your body through micro-massaging, muscle support, and skin repair. The patented fabric construction of Skineez® gives these unique beauty benefits to your shape and skin.
Skineez® fabrics use micro-sphere technology to hold nutrients for the skin, and this micro-sphere design also massages your body.
As you move, the layers of fabric link together over the parts of your body where it rubs the most. This combination creates the micro-massaging to warm and loosen your joints and muscles. The micro-massaging dilates your blood vessels to give more specific circulation to the area you treat with the fabric. Circulation brings oxygen and nutrients through the blood to repair any injury in that spot. The friction also releases nutrients from the Skineez® material where and when you need it.
In particular, the microencapsulation of Skineez© patented clothing holds five essential vitamins and nutrients and delivers these moisturizers over time to protect and repair your skin. Shea butter moisturizes the skin, and apricot Kernel Oil increases skin elasticity. Rose Hip Oil rejuvenates through fatty acids and Vitamin A. Retinol, as a source of Vitamin A, increases collagen in your skin to reduce fine lines, and vitamin E speeds up skin repair. The combination of these ingredients is a powerhouse of skin rejuvenation! The patented fabric construction delivers these nutrients to your skin when you flex and as you move in the clothing.
These benefits delivered by Skineez® fabrics were proven in clinical studies. No competitive products have undergone this testing or proven these types of claims.
Skineez® is the only fabric for compression socks and garments and for diabetic socks that have been FDA-Cleared for the nutrients encapsulated in the materials and delivered to your skin.
Skineez® garments also feature a premium design and material to shape and tone your body. You will see the advantage of Skineez® capris, sport sleeves, and socks as you wear them. And even the socks will bolster the ankles for people treating circulatory conditions from diabetes, DVT, edema, or varicose veins.

The unique fabric design captures the nutrients into the fibers and distributes them to your skin over time. Only the Skineez® fabric is engineered to retain the nutrients of the Skineez® replenishing spray. Consult your doctor for the specific recommendation of the compression level and usage for your condition. [link to how long to wear compression] The sleeves can also be used to treat mild symptoms before seeing a doctor and assist patients with DVT, varicose veins or related conditions.
Please select the best quality Compression Sleeve because it will give your skin the most benefit and the best value over time. Low-cost sleeves are rough and suck too much moisture out of the skin. The Skineez® fabric is latex-free. It is composed of 91% nylon and 9% spandex, which wicks moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry and healthy. The sleeve is micro-massaging, relaxing your muscles and ligaments as you move.
These new compression sleeves also help athletes to recover from injury. The 20-30 mmHg compression level is a medical-grade fabric to treat serious injuries. But athletes of all types can benefit from compression sleeves to treat minor injuries, prevent further harm to ligaments, joints, and muscles. Again, please consult your doctor for specific recommendations of compression level and duration to wear for your particular needs and treatment.

Compare the Skineez© 10-20mmHg Compression Stocking, which is a medical grade compression sock that can be used for mild conditions under a physician’s supervision or to treat mild symptoms before seeing a doctor. This pressure sock is 97% nylon and 3% spandex, fibers that wick moisture away from the skin to keep your feet and legs dry and healthy. The fabric is engineered to encapsulate and deliver vital ingredients over time to protect and repair your skin. Skineez© is the only fabric clinically proven to hydrate and improve the skin. Subjects showed softer, smoother skin after just one hour and confirmed the benefits again after one week of use.
Most people first consider Compression Socks on a recommendation from the doctor – either for themselves or for a parent or spouse for whom they care. Their next stop is the medical hose section in their drug store, mass merchandiser or grocery outlet, where they see a range of socks from inexpensive to higher price. Those budget socks look like an easy choice but be careful of how they can cost you!
First, the doctor recommended pressure socks to treat a medical condition that requires in-home care in place of or in addition to medication and medical procedures. If you have a serious medical condition then your doctor probably recommended a 20-30mmHg or a 30-40mmHg compression level. Make sure you follow your doctor’s recommendation for the pressure level and how long and frequently to wear the socks. While a low cost sock may say “compression” on the label, it does not mean you will get the benefit you need for your condition. Many of the low-end socks do not have gradient compression and will deliver too much pressure at the wrong parts of the sock. Skineez© stockings are non-binding with an extra-wide top for greater comfort and ease and to provide the right circulation back to your heart.
Circulation provides more oxygen to your injury or extremities and also affects the skin. A premium Compression Stocking such as those sold under the Skineez© brand improves the circulation to your foot and lower leg and also delivers healing vitamins and ingredients directly to your skin. Skineez© Compression Socks are the only FDA-Cleared Compression Sock.
Patients using the lowest priced hose will find themselves buying extra lotion and sometimes even bandages to treat dry skin and abrasions. The wrong material can be rough on the skin, or it can suck too much moisture out of the skin or even fail to wick sweat and moisture when needed. Skineez© fabrics use a patented microencapsulation technology to deliver five essential vitamins and nutrients to the skin.
Here is a simplified explanation of how the Skineez© encapsulated ingredients hydrate the skin. Shea butter moisturizes the skin. Apricot Kernel Oil increases elasticity. Rose Hip Oil rejuvenates through fatty acids and Vitamin A. Retinol, as a source of Vitamin A, helps cells reproduce normally and plays a role for your immune system. Vitamin E has been linked to cell repair.
The cost of these essential vitamins and nutrients would be exorbitant if you had to purchase them separately and try to apply them to your skin. People who buy the lowest priced stocking on the shelf are often buying lotions and hand creams to compensate for the rough fabric and deficiency of those socks. They may be spending more than the cost of the sock to buy a lotion with retinol, shea butter or Vitamin E alone. As a result they may spend up to 10 times the price of a pair of Skineez© Compression Socks trying to duplicate the health effects.
A large number of Skineez© buyers comment on the softness of the fabric and how comfortable these socks are for the skin. In the clinical studies, after just one hour, over 70% of respondents said the Skineez© fabrics were more comfortable than competitive products they have worn. Also, over half of the people using the Skineez© fabrics reported they saved time as compared to use of other garments and adding lotions and salves separately. Have you considered the cost of skin lotions, even before you shopped for Compression Hosiery?
The lowest-priced socks will generally wear faster and you’ll be replacing them several times compared to the life span of a premium support sock. Not only do premium stockings have a higher thread count with higher quality polyester but the gradient compression will provide pressure without abrasion to the parts of your foot and leg that need it most.
You can increase the longevity of your support hosiery through proper care. Skineez© allows you to restore the original infusement of nutrients through application of Skineez© replenishing spray. Simply wash your Skineez© Compression Stockings in cold or warm water and turn inside out to spray the entire surface while the sock is still damp. Air dry and your stockings will be infused like new. The special fabric design captures the infusement into the fibers and distributes the nutrients to your skin over time, as you use the socks and where the material rubs the most.
A 2020 NY Times article described how premium socks are well worth the value compared to cheap stockings that wear quickly. The article also described proper care of your hose to extend the life. Their tips included washing in cold water, using a mesh garment bag and using a mild, pH neutral detergent such as Woolite.
Other tips you should consider are to clip your toenails and to rotate between two pairs of hose. Change the support stockings frequently and wash them, especially if you are treating open wounds or skin conditions. Skineez© Compression Socks will wick excess moisture from the skin, which protects the skin and also the sock if you change and wash them regularly.
Skineez© Compression Socks come in a range of compression levels and a variety of lengths and colors. The right pressure sock for your condition will give you the greatest benefit and extend the life of your support hosiery. Always consult your doctor for your specific medical condition.
For example, doctors usually recommend a 20-30 or 30-40 mm Hg compression for an upper leg injury or following surgery to the upper leg or body. An ankle sprain might call for a 10-20mmHg compression sock. The Skineez© line of stockings also include Diabetic socks, which are non-compression, and workforce and sport socks. Injuries to the foot or ankle are usually treated with a crew length sock that does not restrict circulation into the foot, whereas more compression benefit will come from a knee length sock for the upper leg and body conditions. This article on “How Long Should You Wear Compression Socks?” may give you additional information on choosing pressure socks.
]]>Usually, compression socks are worn for about 2-8 weeks after the surgery. Wear them day and night at any time except showering and bathing. It is recommended to get at least 1 extra pair to have on hand while cleaning the other.
Which socks to wear and how long you should wear them depends on your type of injury or ailment. You should always consult a doctor and follow your doctor's recommendation for your condition.
Here are the most common compression socks and treatment times for common surgeries:
Knee Surgery
Your doctor may recommend the knee-high sock either 20-30mmHg or 30-40mmHg. The socks should be worn for this type of recovery all day for about 6 weeks. Your doctor may recommend that you sleep in the stockings and only take them off to wash them. Buy two pairs, so you have another pair to wear while cleaning one or more if you cannot wash them daily.
Hip Surgery
Your doctor may recommend the knee-high sock either 20-30mmHg or 30-40mmHg. Your doctor may recommend the knee-high sock, either 20-30mmHg or 30-40mmHg. You should wear the support socks all day and possibly at night for about 6 weeks. Your doctor may recommend that you sleep in the stockings and only take them off to wash them. Buy at least two pairs of socks to have another one available to wear while cleaning one.
Surgery in which you are under anesthesia for more than 90 minutes will affect your mobility and increase your risk of developing a blood clot. Some major surgeries include Appendectomy, Bypass Surgery, Joint Replacement, Gallbladder Removal, Angioplasty, Hysterectomy, and more. Doctors recommend wearing compression socks day and night, only taking them off to wash and change them for 6 weeks after surgery for most, but not all, patients. Please consult your doctor, who is familiar with your particular health requirements, for specific recommendations.
Ankle Sprain or Break
Wear the crew sock 10-20mmHg for 8-12 hours a day for about 4 weeks, but not while sleeping.
Calf Strain
Wear the knee-high sock 20-30mmHg for 8-12 hours a day for about 4 weeks, but not while sleeping.
Knee Injury
Wear the knee-high sock 20-30mmHg all day for about 6 weeks, but not while sleeping.
Groin or Hamstring Injury
Wear the knee-high sock 20-30mmHg all day for about 4 weeks, but not while sleeping. If pain persists, you can move down to the 10-20mmHg compression sock.
Do you need to wear compression socks after minor day surgery? The answer is yes. You will experience some swelling, and there is still some risk of blood clots. Compression socks reduce swelling and boost circulation, which helps speed up recovery time by bringing nutrient-rich blood to the affected area. Compression socks will help you heal faster, even if your surgery was above your waist.
Varicose Veins
Compression socks are the first plan of action to treat your varicose veins. Compression is also the best step to help prevent them. Even if you are considering surgery to correct the appearance, the first approach is to wear compression stockings for three to six months.

Edema
Edema or swelling can have many causes, which can be as minor as standing for too long, or it could be the symptom of something much more severe. An injury, pregnancy, certain medications, kidney disease, vein damage, heart failure, and more can swelling. Wearing compression stockings provides relief from swelling and comforts tired, achy legs.
Deep Vein Thrombosis
DVT is a medical condition when a blood clot forms in a vein deep inside your body. A blood clot is a clump of blood turned into a solid, making average blood circulation slower. Deep vein blood clots usually form in the lower part of the legs, the calf or thigh, but can be found in other parts of your body.

Not getting enough sleep can have significant effects on your physical as well as mental health. Allowing yourself at least 7 hours of sleep reduces these risk factors dramatically.
Sleep is our body's way of renewing our body's cells and organs. Since skin is our largest organ, it makes sense to revitalize as we sleep. Skineez® Beauty Collection allows you to moisturize your skin while you sleep. Our micro-encapsulation fabrics slowly release skin-reparative moisturizers like Retinol, Shea Butter, and Rosehip Oil deep into your skin. This process thoroughly hydrates your skin instead of a topical lotion that only moisturizes the top epidermis layer of skin.
In a clinical study, 88% of women reported softer and smoother skin just by wearing Skineez® for 8 hours for just one day, which is about the time you need to sleep.

This article is part 2 in our 3 part series for Wellness Month. This week we will be exploring self-care.
Taking care of yourself is an essential part of wellness. The pandemic turned our routines upside down, which has altered our eating and exercise habits. A whopping 61% of people have put on weight due to nervous eating and the closing of many gyms. Ironically, one of the most significant COVID-19 risk factors is obesity.
Life has slowly been getting back to normal, and we need to start focusing on self-care.
Some people have checked in their primary care physician only to discover they now have diabetes, blood circulation problems, varicose veins, or need surgery.
If you find yourself saying "me too" to that, Skineez® can help. Our new Advanced Healing Sock is designed for you if you have been diagnosed with diabetes or have sore, sensitive feet. These socks are ultra-soft and provide light compression. These socks are great for Diabetes, Arthritis, and foot pain. They are seamless and, best of all, hydrating with Skin-Reparative moisturizers to protect and help heal irritated skin.
If you suffer from circulation problems, lightheadedness, swelling, or enlarged veins on your legs, Skineez® compression socks are your best friend. Our technical fibers are infused with skin-reparative moisturizers that make the fabric ultra-soft and supple, making them easy to put on. In addition, our FDA-Cleared fabric moisturizes your skin just by wearing them. All of our compression socks are true medical-grade and come in three compression levels, Mild/Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm.
Many people had to put off surgery during the pandemic and are having it now. Your doctor or surgeon will recommend compression stocking for you to wear after the surgery to help you heal faster, reduce swelling and prevent DVTs. Most doctors will recommend Extra Firm compression to help, but your doctor will prescribe the pressure level best for you and your specific needs.
Taking care of yourself is an essential part of wellness. Self-care includes diet, exercise, allowing yourself downtime to rest, as well as following up with doctor appointments. As most of us know, diet and exercise are the two most significant things you can do as self-care. It's harder to stay on track when under the additional pressure of life and navigating the changing pandemic guidelines. Managing stress by allowing yourself time to rest, relax and have fun makes it easier to stick to your self-care goals and have more energy to spend time with loved ones. Skineez® moisturizing socks will keep you moving more comfortably to help you achieve your goals.

]]>Compression helps improve circulation, which oxygenates the blood and adds nutrients to help improve your performance. Compression works by helping blood return to the heart, which may be impeded from your extremities (feet, hands) and from inflammation due to injury or illness. By speeding the return of blood to the heart, your body can deliver more oxygenated blood to all parts of your body and to injury sites, which speeds up recovery time. This decreases foot fatigue, swelling and micro-massages your legs and feet.
Skineez® Skin-Reparative has just released a new Sports line of compression socks. Similar to the Skineez® collections for Medical, Beauty and Work, the new Sports line of socks are moisture-wicking to keep your feet dry and healthy. All of our socks are pre-treated with our all-natural skin protectant ingredients like Shea Butter, Retinal, and Vitamin E.
Skineez® Sports socks includes three styles - Ankle, Crew, and Knee-High:
They also come in four colors, black, white, gray, and royal blue, with a reinforced black heel and toe to help minimize blistering.
Skineez® is the ONLY FDA-Cleared skin protectant fabric. Skineez® is clinically proven to repair, moisturize, and renew your skin while increasing circulation.
Here are the six key ingredients...
]]>SKINEEZ® skincarewear delivers smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin through a formula of Skin-Reparative ingredients including shea butter, Retinol, and Vitamin E. All of SKINEEZ® garments are pre-treated with these moisturizers that last for up to 10 washings. After the tenth wash, your garments need to be re-infused with the Garment Replenishing Spray.
Packed full of hydrating ingredients, Skineez® Garment Replenishing Spray is as effective as a jar of skin softener but easier to put on. In addition to being a great moisturizer, the shea butter also results in the fabric being ultra-soft and supple, making the compression garments easy to put on.
Retinol is derived from Vitamin A and is one of the best anti-aging components on the market. Unlike exfoliants that remove dead skin, Retinol goes deep into your skin, the dermis, which is just beneath the epidermis. It boosts the collagen, which plumps the skin to minimize fine lines and reduce the appearance of large pores. Retinol is very soothing to the skin.
Apricot Kernel Oil is full of vitamins C, E, K, omega acids, and other antioxidants, which increase your skin's elasticity. Similar to Retinol, Apricot Kernel Oil goes deep into your skin and helps nourish it to provide you with more resilient, softer, and more radiant skin.
Another moisturizing powerhouse is Rosehip Oil, which has skin rejuvenating properties. In addition to skin regeneration qualities that minimize the appearance of scars and stretch marks, it also helps even out discolored skin patches. This powerful moisturizer can even combat eczema.
Another skin-nourishing ingredient is Vitamin E, which protects your skin from free radicals and reduces UV skin damage as a natural sun barrier. As a moisturizer, Vitamin E is used to treat and prevent dry, flakey skin.
Caffeine is full of antioxidants, and it can help prevent wrinkles and skin discoloration. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that are good for sensitive skin and can soothe itchy dry skin. Caffeine also helps reduce puffiness as well as tighten and brighten skin.
These ingredients have been selected carefully for their skin-reparative properties and because they work well together by enhancing their effectiveness.
After machine washing, turn your garments inside out and lay them down on a flat surface. Shake the bottle well before using it. Just give your garments a few squirts with the garment spray, holding the bottle 15"-20" inches away. Generally, two spritzes on each side for the Compression gloves, four spritzes for the Compression Stockings, and eight to ten for the Miracle Toning Capri leggings. Allow your garments to dry flat or hang to dry. They will be good to go through another ten washes.

]]>It's summertime which means shorts and showing more skin. If you have varicose veins, you may be reluctant to show off your legs. Skineez® compression socks are perfect for treating spider veins because it is the ONLY medical grade compression brand clinically proven to revitalize your skin.
Varicose, also known as spider veins, are clusters of veins that get tangled, move closer to the skin's surface, and appear dark and bumpy. When there is an increase in blood pressure in the veins, the blood moves towards the heart by valves. When the valves become weakened or damaged, blood can collect there, creating dark, lumpy spider veins.
Compression socks are the first plan of action to treat your varicose veins. Compression is also the best step to help prevent them.
Even if you are considering surgery to correct the appearance, the first approach is to wear compression stockings for three to six months. Other self-care treatments include exercise, losing weight, and minimizing the number of hours you spend standing in one place.
Most medical professionals recommend a firm compression weight of 20-30mmhg to treat varicose veins. We highly advise that you speak to your doctor for guidance. Your doctor will help you decide what's is best for you.
Skineez® compression socks are perfect for preventing and treating spider veins because they are true medical-grade and come in various firmness levels, from mild, 10 mmHg up to extra-firm 40 mmHg.

]]>Skineez Seamless Diabetic socks are the only Diabetic Socks Clinically proven to help heal, protect and maintain healthy skin!
Dry skin is a significant problem for people with diabetes. Our seamless diabetic socks are also hydrating. They come pretreated with our unique blend of moisturizers in the fabric, which means that it provides enough hydration to protect your skin, keep it smooth, and prevent cracking and wounds, which can lead to infections. Because the socks are pretreated, you do not have to apply a moisturizer before putting your socks on!
We make our diabetic socks specifically to improve blood circulation, which is one of the problems diabetics experience. Suffering from diabetes can be a fight with slow blood circulation and swelling. Diabetic socks can treat this.
Diabetic socks made from non-elastic natural material or a combination of antimicrobial materials are best, for example, acrylic, merino wool, nylon, spandex, etc.
We don't recommend cotton because it holds moisture against your feet (causing odor and blisters), but other non-cotton materials help prevent this problem.
Skineez's diabetic socks are made with technical fibers which also help the stocking keep its shape so it doesn't bunch, or wrinkle, which is the most common cause of foot sores. And best of all, they are machine washable!
After ten washings, renew the material with all these ingredients using our replenishing spray.
Yes, anyone can benefit from them. Diabetic socks are a healthy choice for anyone looking for well-made socks that are ultra-soft to protect their feet. The seam on regular socks often rubs on toes, which can irritate your skin, cause blistering and make it difficult to walk. That's why these socks are perfect for hikers and people who walk frequently.
In addition, Skineez's hydrating skin-caring formula leaves your feet feeling soft and smooth, which can benefit anyone!
Right now, we are having a sale on Diabetic Socks. When you buy one black pair and one white pair, you save 50%!

National Hydration Day became a holiday in 2016 to honor Victor Hawkins, a youth football coach and inventor of FuelGard Electrolyte Tablets. Hawkins partnered with SafetGard to create a mouthguard that holds the tablets to keep athletes hydrated while on the field. June 23 marks the anniversary of Coach Hawkins's passing and was chosen as the best day to observe the importance of hydration.
Did you know that our bodies contain 60% water? So, most people need to drink eight glasses of water per day to function at their peak, depending on heat and activity level. So, when it's hot out in the summer months, we need to be more aware of this to prevent dehydration.
Many people are not aware that some serious and even severe health issues can easily be avoided by drinking enough water. Some minor symptoms of dehydration include dry skin, feeling dizzy, tired, thirsty, dark yellow urine. More severe health concerns include urinary tract and kidney infections, heatstroke, seizures, and even death.
It's also essential to hydrate your skin externally with moisturizers. Skineez Skin-Reparative makes it easy with our hydrating clothing. Our socks, capris, gloves, and sleeves are infused with multiple ingredients to hydrate your skin including,
Some people don't like the taste of water. If you are one of them, here are several ways to give it more flavor or add variety.
As we remind ourselves of the importance of hydration and how to stay hydrated, this can be the perfect time to start the habit of drinking enough water throughout the day.

Trail running shoes are designed for stability and traction. Perfect for running on uneven and slippery paths. They also offer protection from sharp objects like rocks, roots, and branches.
Compression socks
Compression stockings are perfect for trail running. They help with blood circulation and oxygenation. Compression also helps alleviate tired, achy muscles and shortens recovery time. The knee-high socks also protect your legs from getting scratched up on rugged trails.
Hydration/food pack
Like any other sport, it's essential to stay hydrated. Running on trails is slower than road running, so it's recommended to have a light shoulder pack or vest to keep water, gels, and energy bars with you without getting in your way.
Windbreaker
The temperature can vary throughout the day. Also, you will work up a sweat and may cool down when you stop for a hydration break or slow to enjoy the view for a bit.
There are several health benefits of trail running over road running.
With any sport, there are some risks involved as well.
Go with a friend or someone familiar with the trail. You don't want to get lost alone.
Plan for time spent, not distance. Trails can be much steeper and challenging with obstacles you don't encounter on the street, so your time will be slower.
Use a GPS or compass. Whether you are hiking or running in the woods, it's easy to become disoriented and lose your way. It's better to be a little cautious than regret losing your way.
Skineez® has just released a new Sports Collect with compression socks that come in three lengths: Knee-High, Crew, and Ankle. Our seamless, stay-up socks have a reinforced toe and heel combined with our unique Skineez® formula to reduce abrasion that can irritate your skin or cause blisters from playing hard.
There's a reason Trail Running has become such a popular sport in recent years. If you think this sport is a good match for your abilities and goals, get some gear and go for it!

Most people can return to golf in about 18 weeks, but your doctor knows your medical history and will be able to give you more accurate information on when you can get back to the fairway.
Physical therapy (PT) should begin immediately after surgery; most hospitals now start PT right away. Be sure to have Range of Motion (ROM) included in your PT. Completing all of your recommended exercises is crucial for building your strength and regaining your flexibility.
Your doctor will most likely recommend wearing compression stockings after surgery. Compression will help keep the swelling down, keep the blood flow healthy, and lower your chance of infection. Your doctor will recommend a firm compression post-surgery. Skineez® is the only FDA-Cleared and clinically proven compression that improves skin condition by moisturizing your skin to help it heal faster. As you recover, you will be able to reduce the amount of compression needed. You and your doctor will determine which level is most appropriate for your needs.
Use a golf cart
A cart will help with your endurance as you get used to being on your feet for more prolonged periods. You will have more energy for short walks on the green as well as standing.
Use a caddie
The extra weight of your golf clubs and balls will wear you out much faster. Have someone else do the heavy lifting.
Wear shoes without spikes
Although this seems counterintuitive, the spikes can put extra strain on your knees.
Avoid wet grass
Wet grass is slippery! It's not worth taking a chance and setting back your recovery time. Skip playing until the course is dry.
Wear compression stockings
Mild to moderate compression socks will make your legs feel better by keeping the blood flowing, preventing your feet from swelling while helping your muscles recover faster.
Continue to stretch and strengthen your muscles.
Golf is good exercise and essential to your overall well-being with fresh air and socializing. When you continue to strengthen and stretch your muscles, you will be able to spend more time on the golf course!
Skineez® now carries compression sleeves! If you and your doctor feel that a knee or leg sleeve would be better for your recovery, check out Skineez® Compression Sleeves.

If your mind is always racing, try listening to soft music or even a podcast or an audiobook to give yourself something else to focus on when your eyes are closed.
Compression socks help to reduce swelling and pain in your legs, which aids in recovery. Wearing them around the house on rest days improves circulation and re-energizes tired legs. These special medical grade socks revitalize, give your legs gentle compression hugs and are infused with healthy moisturizing ingredients that nourish and repair your skin.
Baths promote relaxation, healing, and stress relief. If you’re looking to relax your muscles, sink into a nice warm bath, but if you’re looking to reduce inflammation, opt for a cold one. Either way, take a nice soak and let your mind relax as your muscles do. Add some Epsom salt to soothe soreness and speed up the healing process. Plus, bath salts make for a lovely scented bath experience with essential oils that can help to ease stress. To take your baths to the next level, put on some calming music, light a few candles, and dim the lights.
Stretch and massage those poor muscles on your day off. Self-myofascial release, or foam rolling, is a massage technique that helps ease muscle inflammation, soreness, and tightness. Foam rolling is fairly straightforward, just be sure and read how to safely do some exercises. You could also try yoga to stretch. Yoga is proven to increase flexibility and help with tight muscles as well. Either way, both will leave your muscles feeling limber and flexible.

]]>In the south, Decoration Day began after the Civil War in 1866. May 5 was the original date after General Logan declared it a day to be observed nationwide. People would place flowers on the resting places of fallen soldiers to decorate them. In 1868, May 30 became the new date because flowers would be in bloom all across the United States.
Decoration Day gradually became Memorial Day. First used in 1882, it wasn't until 1967 that it officially became the name by federal law. In 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act to move some holidays to a Monday to create a 3-day weekend.
Memorial day is a day to think about those we have lost, place flowers or a flag on their grave, and be thankful for those who are still in our lives.

]]>Oreo is a friendly, adorable Tibetan terrier. He is approximately 10 years old now. Michelle fell in love with him when she first met him at Save A Dog rescue.
There are so many dogs in shelters that need homes. It just makes more sense to me to adopt one in need and change a life. Many people will continue to buy from a breeder or pet store. Michelle believes it's more important to help a dog in need.
Trained rescue dogs can be the eyes and ears, and even the legs for the elderly or those with disabilities. Rescue dogs add comfort, security, unconditional love, and friendship to our lives. They also encourage us to get out and walk, which has numerous benefits to our health and wellbeing.
Wearing Skineez Mild Compression socks (10-15mmHg) and Miricle Toning Capri while walking your rescue dog makes your legs feel more energized. Meaning, more walks and time to bond with your furry friend. Be more active in your skin!
ADOPT: If there is room in your life for a dog, consider adopting and giving one a forever home.
FOSTER: Many dogs abandoned to shelters benefit from socialization, or would just thrive better away from the shelter environment. Others may be in need of some medical care or rehabilitation in a home setting before an adoption can take place.
HELP A SHELTER: Shelters always need support. In addition to financial donations, shelters have a list of much needed items such as blankets, toys, treats, and leashes. You can also host a bake sale, car wash, or other event to raise funds for the shelter.
VOLUNTEER: Help out at your local shelter. Taking dogs for walks, grooming, and giving them plenty of affection improves their socialization.
SPAY/NEUTER: Be responsible for your pets. Overpopulation is the number one reason shelters exist.
EDUCATE: Teach young children the importance of kindness, unconditional love, and responsible care of all animals.
